Antoinette Young, DC, MSc (Paeds), FRCC
Antoinette Young attended the Anglo-European College of Chiropractic in Bournemouth as mature student having previously worked in university administration. She graduated in 1988 and spent the next five years working in Cheshire. She moved to Yeovil in 1992 where she established and built a full-time practice.
In addition to her clinical practice, Antoinette has also completed a Masters degree in Paediatrics; worked as Audit Officer for the British Chiropractic Association, assessing chiropractic clinical practice and standards in the UK; and served as the inaugural chair of the (now Royal) College of Chiropractors Paediatric Faculty. In 1999, she was elected as a Fellow of the College, for whom she also served as Director of Research from 2002 to 2010, co-ordinating and overseeing much of the clinically based research within the UK. She has also been an external examiner for the MSc in Paediatrics at the University of Bournemouth.
She completed three-year postgraduate training in Craniopathy in 1990 and a further 3 years postgraduate training in advanced neurology. In addition to general practice, she has a particular interest in paediatric, gynaecological and neurological patients. Antoinette is also researching the possible neurological origins of developmental delay (dyslexia, attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder, dyspraxia etc.) in children and has lectured in paediatrics to undergraduate and postgraduate groups.
